Bernard's compilation book The Dark and Hairy Annals of
Birger Barbaren has a bunch of sketchy cartoons on the inside covers; most
of them single-image scenes, a few with two or three ”panels”. Presented
here for your perusal.

I saw an ad for ”foam bras”, so…

Fur joke #1.

Fur joke #2.

Gonna bring the house down! After a story idea by Krister Sundelin.

It's an ancient secret art.

But what if it's NOT a trap?

Think there was a Benny Hill joke on that theme, with a dog.

I just read them for the articles.

Dawn Late Morning of the Dead.

Bernard the Hogslayer!

That, That Dude Looks Like a Lady.

Ffffthagn!

Braaains… eh, baaabes…

And so were born the rumors of Bernard the Impaler.

No warranty.

Snake on a Stick.

I've had bar nights like that.

I call him Lollipop, Lollipop.

Birger = Bernard, kung = ”king” in Swedish. You get the idea.

Alas, his rain dance never made it rain beer.

I am the great Centaurio.

Who's a good little drago-buwsie-wuvsie?

Don't forget to put on warm clothes in the winter.

That counts as chemical warfare.

The thing about clinging to a guy's leg is, you're lying in the dirt.

It takes wit, precision, and the speed of a panther.

The sequel to ’BtB Goes East’. Mola Ram
never had to deal with this.

It wasn't clear he'd been up to something, but there were signs.
Bonus: A few pictures that didn't end up in the book. Two for reasons
of space and one that became obsolete due to a (rather extensive) change of
plans.

John Norman's masterpiece.

”Empty your pockets!”

The substitute heroes.
Above pic; see the three
deputy strips. The book started out as a 20-page booklet to be
sent to subscribers with Fenix no. 6/2006. It would include all strips up
to that point, except the three from 1/2005. Hence this little nod
to the deputies so we'd at least have a reference to their work in the booklet –
but the finalized compilation book did include their strips.
