Bernard has an axe, and he's not afraid to use it!

This is a redrawn version of one of my original submission strips from 1989. More exactly, redrawn from the first one I made. The old version is long lost, but it followed exactly the same plot; the only change is that the blond barbarian who's trying to fight the dragon was a knight in full armor.

The old version was in turn based on a slightly older doodle (seen on the Gallery page), a doodle that essentially gave me the whole idea for the comic strip Bernard the Barbarian. So in more ways than one this really is the ”original” Bernard strip.
